Mike Bates has worked in the industry since 1992 and has been with the Firaxis art team since 2000. A graduate of the Maryland Institute, College of Art with a degree in illustration, Mike developed an early career specialty in box covers and technical illustration. He soon found his way to the computer games arena into leading art roles at MicroProse on games like Gunship and Sid Meier's Civilization.
