Mr. Hernandez represents the firm’s clients in general business litigation matters, with an emphasis in representing major financial institutions in all aspects of creditor's rights. He has also represented businesses in disputes involving business torts, contractual claims, intellectual property, defamation, false imprisonment, fraud, real estate and privacy claims. Employment Litigation. Mr. Hernandez has represented clients in cases regarding allegations of wage and hour law violations; wrongful discharge; retaliation; discrimination and harassment based on race, sex, and age. He has represented employers in state and federal court and also has experience appearing before administrative agencies such as the Labor Commissioner, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In addition to handling hearings before administrative agencies, Mr. Hernandez has also represented employers in audits conducted by these administrative agencies. Other Interests Miguel is a classically trained musician who previously hosted a weekly classical radio show in Los Angeles. He was fortunate to share his enthusiasm for the arts when he taught music to inner-city middle school students in Brooklyn, New York. Miguel continues to work with inner-city students and is currently a member of the board of directors of a charter school which services at-risk youth in seventeen different. |
