Mr. Kantor is a former U.S. Secretary of Commerce and has a distinguished record of government service. Mr. Kantor, currently a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm Mayer, Brown & Platt, is one of the world's leading international attorneys and specializes in expanding client activities in foreign markets through trade, direct investment, joint ventures and strategic business alliances.
He has represented a number of the world's largest companies, including Ford, Aetna, Boeing, CitiGroup, Monsanto, UAL, UPS, PepsiCo and AOL. Additionally, he guides U.S. companies on access to Europe and Asia and serves as a senior advisor to Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Discover & Co., the global investment bank. As President Clinton's U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 1996-1997 and trade representative from 1993-1996, Mr. Kantor concluded more than 200 trade agreements. Since leaving the government in 1997, Mr. Kantor has been a partner at Mayer, Brown & Platt where his primary practice has been in corporate and financial international transactions. Mr. Kantor earned his Law degree from Georgetown University Law School and holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University. |
