With almost 20 years of experience in the industry, Mickey McClay Wilson, senior vice president of communications and brand development for CNET Networks, is responsible for developing and executing corporate communications and marketing strategies.
Since joining CNET Networks in 2000, Mickey has positioned the company as an industry thought leader beginning with the development of new ad formats that later became industry standards through the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), then through on-going innovations in rich media and ground-breaking research that resulted in best practices for creating effective online ads, which were later adopted by top companies across multiple market segments. Mickey and her team continue to support the evolution of online marketing through the development and testing of new marketing concepts that enhance the advertiser's ability to connect and build relationships with CNET Networks' influential audiences.
Most recently, as the company has grown, Mickey has been involved in the integration of CNET Networks' communication functions, streamlining corporate messaging for consistent use internally and externally, and developing a framework for raising CNET Networks' visibility. This framework includes audience research, brand positioning, and marketing programs that raise brand awareness among key audience segments, as well as attract new advertisers across multiple categories including automotive, finance, CPG and entertainment.
Prior to joining CNET Networks, Mickey worked in corporate marketing at Ziff-Davis, a SoftBank Company. In addition, she launched Softbank Studios, a boutique agency that developed custom events including Sun MicroSytems JavaOne, IBM Java World Tour and the Microsoft Builder Conference. Earlier in her career, Mickey also worked at Alexander Communications, Cott Retail Brands and PC Week (a Ziff-Davis publication).
Mickey has a B.S. in marketing from Boston College. Her passions include food, biking, and traveling. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and yellow lab. |
