Michelle Foster practiced as a litigation partner with a mid-sized New York law firm prior to beginning her career in legal search. She is a member of MLA's Partner and Associate Practice Groups, and places partners, associates and in-house counsel into firms, corporations, and banks throughout the U.S. and abroad. Recently, Michelle placed the new General Counsel at D.E. Shaw. She takes a career counseling approach and takes great pleasure in assisting attorneys in reaching their personal and long-term career goals.
Michelle is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of Law and earned her B.A. cum laude from UCLA, where she majored in history. Michelle grew up in New York and resides in Riverdale with her husband and three children. Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa as a managing director, Michelle spent more than four years at another prominent New York legal search firm.
