Michelle Smith is the Chief Nursing Officer for Truman Medical Centers, joining the organization in March 2006. She has over eighteen (18) years of nursing leadership in various hospital settings including academic, not-for-profit and for-profit entities. Most recently, Ms. Smith was the Chief Nursing Officer for Independence Regional Health Center/Medical Center Independence, part of the HCA Midwest Division. Before joining HCA, Ms. Smith spent nine years at TMC Hospital Hill as the Director of Nursing, Patient Care Supervisor, and Clinical Nurse Manager.
Ms. Smith has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from William Jewell College and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American College of Health Care Executives, and Sigma Theta Tau. |
