Michelle Meyer is an associate in the firm's Litigation and Labor & Employment Groups. She has represented employees in employment discrimination claims involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Equal Pay Act and employers in disputes over temporary restraining orders ("TROs") involving breach of confidentiality agreements, non-solicitation agreements and the misappropriation of employer trade secrets. Ms. Meyer has also assisted clients on how to minimize potential litigation under state and federal laws regarding the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the National Labor Relations Act, and COBRA. She has assisted in counseling clients on issues regarding wages and pay, employee bonuses, anti-harassment policies, wrongful termination and employment contracts. Ms. Meyer received her J.D. from Northwestern University in 2006, where she assisted in the representation of clients in criminal defense matters before the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County and the Cook County Juvenile Court through the Bluhm Legal Clinic.
Ms. Meyer received a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University in 2003 and a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998. Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn, Ms. Meyer worked as a newspaper reporter. Ms. Meyer is a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
