Michelle Lombardo is counsel in the Investment Management Practice Group.
Investment Management. Michelle's practice focuses on all areas of day-to-day management of mutual funds. Michelle provides advice to her clients on the Investment Company Act and other federal securities laws, as well as general business matters. She has extensive experience in all investment company form filings, including shareholder reports on Form N-CSR and related Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements. Michelle has been involved in organizing numerous new portfolios and new classes for her clients. In addition to drafting proxy statements, Michelle also has experience in mutual fund mergers and has overseen several mutual fund major reorganizations.
Michelle has worked for an in-house investment adviser's legal department, where her primary duty was to counsel the operational, fund accounting, product and compliance departments on day-to-day investment advisory and investment company matters. During her time in-house, Michelle also worked on transactional matters, including negotiating separate account agreements with large pension plans. Michelle has extensive experience in various anti-money laundering laws and regulations and has written numerous articles in the area. She also has extensive experience in drafting, reviewing and providing advice on compliance policies and procedures for investment advisers and investment companies.
In General. Michelle graduated from Villanova University cum laude in 1988 and with an master's in 1991, both political science degrees. She received her law degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1997. Michelle was a member of Villanova's Law Review and Moot Court board. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in December 1997. Prior to joining Drinker Biddle, Michelle was a clerk to the Honorable J. Sydney Hoffman of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. She is a member of the American and Philadelphia Bar Associations. |
