Michelle Welsh joined Drinker Biddle as an associate in 2007 from Deloitte and Touche where she was a senior consultant in its Customs and International Trade Services Group. Prior to working at Deloitte, she was an associate with a Chicago area firm that specialized in customs and international trade law. She has advised clients on various customs and international trade regulatory issues, including tariff classification; valuation; country of origin determination, including NAFTA eligibility; country of origin marking; admissibility of merchandise, C-TPAT, penalty and liquidated damages enforcement; seizures; and forfeitures. She has also represented clients in litigation at the U.S. Court of International Trade and at various administrative proceedings, including prior disclosures of violations, requests for binding rulings and antidumping scope determinations.
In General. Michelle earned her J.D. and a certificate in international law and practice from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. She studied European law at the European Institutions Program in Oxford, England. Michelle received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. |
