Michelle L. Manzo is a partner in the Trial Department in the Los Angeles office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. Michelle focuses her practice on complex civil litigation matters, arbitration matters, False Claims Act qui tam litigation matters and government investigations.
Currently, Michelle represents hospitals and health systems in litigation and arbitration matters, health care fraud investigations and qui tam actions arising from allegations of Medicare fraud and abuse. These matters have involved payor disputes, physician relocation and on-call agreements, and alleged violations of the federal anti-kickback statute. Michelle has also represented health care clients in connection with voluntary disclosures and government investigations involving complex Medicare reimbursement issues.
Michelle also has significant environmental litigation experience in the areas of hazardous waste, air and water pollution, toxic torts and asbestos. Michelle has represented corporate clients in large multi-district litigation matters, criminal environmental enforcement actions and federal government investigations and has counseled clients in connection with various environmental regulatory and transaction matters.
Michelle is admitted to practice in California and New York.
