Environmental Litigation
Representation of aggregate company in citizen nuisance action before Illinois Pollution Control Board.
Defense of nuisance action (odor complaints) brought by Attorney General associated with livestock operations.
Environmental Issues in Transactions
Conduct environmental due diligence in both acquisitions and divestitures, representing purchasers, sellers, and lenders.
Representation of seller in divesting business, including creation of escrows and post-closing remediation.
Toxic Tort Litigation
Defense of ethylene oxide manufacturer and parent company in multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant suits brought by current and former hospital employees alleging personal injuries caused by exposure to the medical instrument sterilant containing ethylene oxide, resolved by favorable rulings on motions for summary judgment.
Management and defense of approximately six suits on behalf of gas utility, each involving multiple plaintiffs, alleging personal injuries and property damages caused by exposure to elemental mercury.
