Michele Gibson is counsel to the firm in its Real Estate Department and member of the Land Use Practice Group and Redevelopment Practice Group. She practices with a particular emphasis on condemnation law and land use litigation. Ms. Gibson has represented several governmental entities and individual property owners in major condemnation proceedings involving residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Ms. Gibson has represented the City of Long Branch, Atlantic City, Borough of Flemington, City of Trenton, Borough of Chesilhurst, Deptford Municipal Utilities Authority, and South Jersey Port Corporation, an entity of the State of New Jersey, in various condemnation matters. She has also provided counsel to various builders and developers in land use matters, and has experience in land use litigation and appellate work. Ms. Gibson has also provided counsel in the purchase and sale of residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Ms. Gibson’s experience has included providing counsel to South Jersey Port Corporation in connection with the sale of property and assignment of leasehold interests to the New Jersey Economic Development Authority in connection with the construction of the Camden Amphitheater. A graduate, summa cum laude, of Howard University (1988), she received her degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (1992), where she was an associate editor of the Comparative Labor Law Journal. She is a member of the New Jersey State and Garden State Bar Associations. Ms. Gibson serves on the Appellate Practice Committee and the Meeting Arrangements and Program Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Ms. Gibson was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to the Committee on Character (2000-2003). Ms. Gibson is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. |
