Amsalem is the founder and managing director of Mimran Capital, an investment banking vehicle focused on investment and the delivery of corporate finance services to early- and growth-stage companies in emerging markets. He started his career in emerging markets finance at the International Finance Corporation, the private-sector arm of the World Bank, and later founded and managed Patricof Emerging Markets. He also managed the Latin American and Eastern European investment banks of Banque Indosuez and Citibank’s structured finance department, delivering corporate finance products in emerging countries. A full-time faculty member at the Columbia Business School from 1979 to 1985, Amsalem is the author of a book as well as a number of articles on emerging country economics and finance. Amsalem earned an MBA from Columbia in 1972 and a DBA from Harvard in 1978. |
