Michael Weiss has served as a director of our company since November 2004 and was appointed interim Chairman of the Board in March 2005 and Chairman of the Board in August 2005. Mr. Weiss is currently the Chairman and CEO of Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: KERX). Prior to that, from 1999-2002, Mr. Weiss was the founder, chairman and CEO of ACCESS Oncology, Inc., a private cancer company subsequently acquired by Keryx. Prior to that, Mr. Weiss was Senior Managing Director at Paramount Capital, Inc. From 1991-1993, Mr. Weiss was an attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Mr. Weiss received his B.A., magna cum laude from State University of New York at Albany and was awarded a Juris Doctorate degree from Columbia University Law School. |
