Michael Wang is the Chief Financial Officer and a founding partner of MMG Partners. He has spent eighteen years in the financial services and health care industries, both as a consultant and in a variety of management positions. Mr. Wang has extensive experience in business process reengineering, information management and technology, and strategic planning.Highlights of his experience include: Cost reduction study for the management of agent bank fees for a major securities firm. Implemented a standards-based, product cost accounting system for a major regional bank Implemented a corporate budgeting and forecasting system for a major regional bank Project manager for the development of an innovative, Internet-based financial marketplace for a leading financial information and software company. Responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team comprised of strategy, creativity, and technology. Formulated the business model for a global media and technology company to reach retail investors. Business plans and market entry strategies were developed for the U.S., U.K., and Germany to accommodate differences in consumer behavior, the retail financial marketplace, and regulatory environment.Developed business plan and strategic alliances for an innovative software product for a regional telephone company. Evaluated the suitability of third-party processors for acquisition or joint venture for a large investment bank.Prior to MMG, Mr. Wang was the CIO for a health care start-up and an Assistant Director at John Deere Health Care, where he managed the development of a data warehouse that was nominated for The Computerworld Smithsonian Award and added to the Permanent Research Collection of Information Technology Innovation at the Smithsonian Institute. Mr. Wang also managed the development of a patient care system that received a best-in-class Industry Solutions Award from Microsoft.Mr. Wang has held management positions at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Bankers Trust, and Mellon Bank. He earned an M.B.A. in finance from Carnegie Mellon University, a M.S. in operations research from Northwestern University, and a B.A. in biophysics from the University of Pennsylvania. |
