A native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Mike Wagner began his steel career with Bethlehem Steel in their 1984 management training program. He served in a number of sales capacities before joining the start-up of Nucor-Yamato Steel in 1988 as a regional sales representative. Mike was soon promoted by Nucor to Sales Manager at its first flat rolled mini-mill in Crawfordsville, Indiana; where he led the growth of the thin slab cast product into traditional integrated mill applications. Active in various industry associations, Mike was instrumental as Co-Chairman of the Steel Alliance that focused on public awareness of steel’s advantages. He joined Birmingham Steel Corporation in 2000 as Vice President Sales and Marketing and eventually became the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for SeverCorr, LLC he is part of a team of industry experts constructing the next generation steel mill in Columbus, Mississippi. |
