Mr. Smith is responsible for all accounting, finance and personnel activities, as well as investor relations and business development.
Prior to joining Cobra, Mr. Smith was a Managing Director in the corporate finance group of Mesirow Financial, Inc., where he advised clients in mergers and acquisitions, capital formation and strategic planning. Clients included both publicly traded and privately held corporations.
Smith previously was a Managing Director of Buccino and Associates, a leading turnaround management firm. Mr. Smith managed the Midwest region for Buccino and also served as the national director of the firm’s corporate finance practice. In his eight years with Buccino (1989-1997), Smith led the turnaround of several companies and also advised clients in the sale or recapitalization of their companies. Prior to joining Buccino, he was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Whinney, a predecessor firm to Ernst & Young.
Mr. Smith began his career with A.T. Kearney, an international management-consulting firm. He holds an MBA in finance from George Washington University, completed coursework toward a Ph.D. in economics at University of Maryland, and received a BA in economics from University of Miami.
