Dr. Scott joined the Orqis management team in 2003. He has more than 14 years of experience as a specialist in the field of cardiovascular system medical devices. Dr. Scott has been involved in the research and development of devices ranging from heart valves, annuloplasty devices and blood compatibility coatings, to vascular grafts, cannulae and blood pumps. His extensive knowledge of design control processes (QSR, ISO), experimental design and product development experience allows him to develop effective and efficient approaches to solving applied engineering challenges. Prior to joining Orqis team, he served as Manager of Advanced Heart Valve Therapy Technologies at Edwards Lifesciences. During his tenure at Edwards Lifesciences, Dr. Scott was Technical Team Leader of cross-functional group that successfully brought a new bioprosthetic valve to market in the European Union and Canada in 2002 and to the U.S. in 2003. He holds a Ph. D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Western Ontario, a Masters degree in Orthopedic Bioengineering from the University of Waterloo, and a Baccalaureate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo |
