Mr. Schwank joined Carrix in 1982. After graduation from the University of Florida, he served in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer for seven years. He started at Carrix as a vessel superintendent for Terminal 18 in Seattle. In 1989, he was the project officer for redesign and renovation of Indies Terminal in the Port of Los Angeles and then project manager for the construction of the on-dock maintenance facility at Terminal 18. He later served as vessel operations manager at Pier 4, Tacoma. In 1992, he was an instructor for the company’s Total Quality Management program. He became general manager of the Billing and Credit Department in 1993. During Carrix’s expansion into Panama in 1994, he was named a director of SSA International for the Panama project and subsequently functioned as project officer for International Business Development. He assumed his present position as president of Tideworks Technology in April 1998 and completed its branding and transformation to an autonomous business unit. He is responsible for the ongoing development of Tideworks as a major provider and integrator of software products and technology services to marine terminal operators and other sectors of the transportation industry. He is currently a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals, the IEEE and retired from the US Army Reserve in 1996.
