Michael specializes in financial and operational solutions for reorganization. He leads turnaround and bankruptcy administration efforts on behalf of creditors, customers and debtors; he has extensive experience in providing crisis management, financial oversight and assessment services. Client engagements have included healthcare firms, financial service providers, and numerous manufacturing and automotive companies. Professional Experience Prior to BBK, Michael served as an Associate in the Turnaround and Crisis Management Business Group of Jay Alix & Associates. He performed business unit rationalization and strategic analysis, acted as financial advisor and provided financial and operational assistance to debtors in bankruptcy and reorganization. The companys clients included a leading bicycle manufacturer, a transport logistics provider, a $1 billion theatre operator and a $9 billion food distribution company. (Michael was awarded the firms Excellence in Consulting Award for his role in the food distributors restructuring effort.) As Director of Automotive Power Seating Programs for Faurecia, Michael was responsible for profit, loss, and all operational aspects of the group; he partnered with international operations to explore and develop business opportunities in both Europe and North America. He led the effort to establish the North American automotive power seating business unit and grow it to $75 million in annual sales, and established the framework for increasing sales to $250 million within 2 years. Prior to Faurecia, Michael was Program Manager for Simpson Industries, Inc. He coordinated company launch efforts for new business, moving from business award to production. During his time at Simpson he implemented over $2.5 million in annual operational improvements (over 10% of company net income) through process and supplier initiatives. Earlier in his career, Michael completed the Management Training Program of Cooper Industries, a development program for high-potential employees to foster project leadership and management skills. He provided financial analysis, technical support, financial model development and process optimization services.
