Michael Pettingill is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, based in the Firm’s New York office. Michael is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Department, where his practice focuses on representing collateral managers, issuers, underwriters and investors in collateralized loan and bond obligations, synthetic debt obligation, credit-linked note and various other structured finance products. Michael also represents hedge funds, including funds of funds, in leveraged derivative transactions including credit default swaps, total return swap and share swap transactions, and has represented issuers and servicers in various complex receivables financing transactions.
Michael has also represented a rating agency in CMBS transactions, and has extensive experience representing term, mezzanine and construction lenders in connection with the origination, sale and securitization of commercial mortgage loans.
Michael earned his B.A. from Bucknell University and his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. Michael is admitted to practice in New York and California.
