Michael Pangia is president of Asia, Nortel. In this role he is responsible for the overall sales strategy and operation for Nortel in Asia, which includes Greater China, Japan, India, Australia New Zealand, Southeast Asia region and Pakistan.
A well-rounded executive, Pangia has a proven track record and extensive experience with the company in multiple regions and disciplines, ranging from finance and operations to sales. During his 20 years with Nortel, he has held various senior management positions. His previous roles included Vice President for Global Enterprise Operations and Services and Vice President of Finance for the Optical business unit. Prior to his current assignment, he was Chief Operating Officer for the Asia Pacific region. He has worked in the US, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean & Latin American regions before coming to Asia.
A 45-year-old Canadian, Pangia holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor, Canada and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto, Canada.
