Michael Montecillo comes to EMA with over three and a half years of experience in vulnerability detection and analysis, computer incident response, computer forensic investigations, network security, controlled penetration testing, and risk and application assessments. He has worked in cooperation with several levels of government, as well as many private contractors, to help ensure secure channels for information sharing. At EMA, Michael will focus on the emerging application security industry, as well as IT security risk compliance and governance. Michael began his career in 2004 working for a large consolidated state government IT department, in a role that would eventually be dedicated to the state’s police organization where he performed risk assessments and audits of highly-critical systems and applications. He later left this role to become the state’s first Vulnerability Management Coordinator where he developed and implemented a program to assess the entire state infrastructure for vulnerabilities. Testament to Michael’s in-depth knowledge in this field is the many certifications he has received, including an EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) certification, a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification, and Vulnerability Assessment Technician Level One certification from the Department of the Army Do-It-Yourself Vulnerability Assessment program (DITYVAP).
