Michael Meyer is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Sterling Commerce, responsible for the global legal function, which includes litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic relationships. Meyer joined Sterling Commerce in 2001 from SBC Communications, Inc., where he served as General Attorney responsible for mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, he was Vice President, General Attorney and Secretary of SBC Media Ventures, Inc. Meyer has held a variety of legal positions with SBC and its subsidiary, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, since 1983 focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions and state and federal regulatory matters. Meyer is a member of the Missouri and Texas state bar associations. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University, School of Law.
