Michael Lucy is President and CEO of Northeast Gas Markets, LLC (NEGM) a Delaware Corporation providing energy project development, management and consulting services. He joined the Ze-gen board in early 2007. Mr. Lucy has served in a variety of capacities in the energy business during his 30+ year career. Before forming the NEGM joint venture, he was a senior officer at J. Makowski Company and its successor, US Generating Company. He held various corporate positions including Senior Vice President, Corporate Relations responsible for Government Affairs, Public Relations and Environmental Policy. From 1994 to 1996 he was President of US Generating (Canada) Ltd., based in Calgary, responsible for the company s interests in the Canadian gas patch . During the late 1980 s Mr. Lucy was Chairman of the Government Relations Committee of the Iroquois Gas Transmission System project, a consortium of major Canadian and U.S. Northeast gas companies, and led the team that secured regulatory permits and rights of way to establish the first major new pipeline system into the U.S. Northeast in forty years. In his project management capacity Mr. Lucy serves as President of Alberta Northeast Gas, Limited (ANE) which is a long term natural gas supply consortium representing fifteen local gas distribution companies (LDCs) throughout the U.S. Northeast. Mr. Lucy is a current Director and past President of The New England/Canada Business Council and has served on the Board of Directors of The Northeast Gas Association. Before joining J. Makowski Company, Mr. Lucy served with the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer. He served as International Economist for the Office of International Energy Policy. Mr. Lucy holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and a Certificate in Economic/Commercial studies from the U.S. Foreign Service Institute. |
