Dr. Loeffelholz received his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Iowa, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Ohio University. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in medical and public health microbiology at Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester, New York. Dr. Loeffelholz is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology. He has 18 years of laboratory experience including work in diagnostic product development and clinical and public health laboratories. He has authored over 100 scientific papers, abstracts, study courses, and book chapters and has served on the editorial boards for several scientific journals including the Journal of Clinical Microbiology. Dr. Loeffelholz has served on a number of committees for the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI, formerly NCCLS) and the Association of Public Health Laboratories. |
