In this role, Michael is responsible for the day-to-day management of the US, Canadian, and Latin American iShares businesses. These businesses have over $225 billion of assets under management across 125 funds listed in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Prior to this role (from 2000 to 2005), Michael was the chief operating officer of the US Exchange-Traded Products Business. In that role, he was responsible for coordinating the operational, regulatory, and product development issues affecting the US iShares products and other mutual funds. Michael joined BGI in 1994 as a manager in the Investment Services Group. In 1997, he relocated to London and assumed the responsibilities of deputy head of Operations and, subsequently, head of Operations for BGI Europe. In 2000, he returned to the US to join the Exchange-Traded Products Business. Michael has a BS in business administration, finance, from the California State University at San Francisco. |
