Michael Kelly joined Kenyon & Kenyon's New York office as an associate in 2003. Mr. Kelly's practice encompasses several areas of intellectual property law, including trademark and patent litigation before federal courts, state courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, trademark prosecution and counseling clients regarding their trademark portfolios.
Mr. Kelly has experience with assessing the availability and registrability of trademarks and the acquisition and protection of domain names. In addition to securing, protecting and enforcing clients' intellectual property rights, he also routinely counsels clients on other intellectual property related matters including brand management issues, trademark counterfeiting and gray market goods, compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), website privacy policies, general website layout, website disclaimers and Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) compliance.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kelly worked as a teaching assistant for a general survey course on intellectual property at Harvard University.
