Michael Kauffman
Vice President and General Counsel
Michael Kauffman serves as vice president and general counsel for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. Previously, Kauffman was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Holland & Knight, LLP. Kauffman has practiced law for over 15 years, focusing on government contracts counseling, government contracts, commercial litigation and corporate compliance. Building on his prior military experience in avionics and submarine warfare, he has extensive legal experience in all aspects of information technology and major systems procurements, including proposal preparation, bid protests, contract administration, equitable adjustments and claims, data rights preservation, subcontractor management and regulatory compliance. Kauffman is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. Kauffman also is admitted to the bars of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court for Maryland. He has published several professional articles and regularly lectures on commercial contracting, international contracting and procurement integrity. Kauffman received his bachelor's degree from Hood College, magna cum laude, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, and his law degree from Georgetown University.
