Dr. Holers is one of the world s leading experts in complement biology and has published more than 175 articles in the area. His research has focused on the role of complement in initiating inflammation and on the development of novel approaches to controlling complement activation in vivo. Dr. Holers is the Smyth Professor and Chairman of the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He has served as a founding member of the International Complement Society and as Chair of the Committee on Research, the Scientific Advisory Committee and as a Member of the Boards of Directors of the American College of Rheumatology and its Research and Education Foundation. Dr. Holers received his MD degree and his post-doctoral training at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was an Associate Professor before he joined the faculty at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center . |
