Dr. Gilman was most recently Executive Vice President Research at Biogen Idec. He joined Biogen in 1999 as Director of Molecular Biology and became head of research at Biogen in 2000. Dr. Gilman was Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of ARIAD Pharmaceuticals from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that Dr. Gilman spent eight years on the scientific staff of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York where his research focused on mechanism of signal transduction and gene regulation. Dr. Gilman holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from University of California Berkeley and a S.B. in Life Sciences from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
