Professor Gertz specializes in databases and information systems with a focus on management of scientific data, data integrity and quality, and database security. Within his responsibilities for database security, Professor Gertz emphasizes detection and prevention of insider misuse, database security re-engineering, trust management and authentic data publication scheme. He is a member of ACM, ACM SIGMOD, IEEE, and the Gesellschaft fuer Informatik (GI). He served as program co-chair of the IFIP TC 11.5 Working Conference on Integrity and Internal Control in Information Systems in 2001 and 2002, and he is co-chair of the 10th International Conference on Information Quality (ICIQ'05). |
