Michael A. Cusumano is the Sloan Management Review Distinguished Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management. He teaches and consults in the areas of technology strategy, product development, and entrepreneurship in the computer software industry. He has served as a director of several software companies, including NuMega Technologies (now a division of Compuware) and Infinium Software (now a division of SSA Global Technologies). He is also the author or co-author of eight books, including Microsoft Secrets, Competing on Internet Time, and Platform Leadership. His latest book, The Business of Software, is due out in early 2004. Professor Cusumano holds a B.A. degree from Princeton University and a Ph.D. from Harvard University . He has also been a postdoctoral fellow in Production and Operations Management at the Harvard Business School , a Fulbright Scholar at Tokyo University , and a visiting professor of management, computer science, and information systems at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo , the University of Maryland , and the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. |
