A practicing attorney for 19 years, Michael left his partnership at Philadelphia-based Pepper Hamilton in 1985 to start Coleman Legal. His interest in recruitment was evidenced by his service as Pepper’s hiring partner for two years. Michael saw the opportunity to start a legal search firm and bring to the fledgling legal search industry the same quality of service and professionalism with which he practiced law. He has sought to elevate the professionalism of the industry through his active involvement (including serving as President and Director) in the industry trade association, the National Association of Legal Search Consultants. Michael has been an active participant in the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association. Michael was the first male member of the Pennsylvania Bar’s Commission on Women in the Profession and was an active member of the ABA’s Women Rainmakers Group. Michael also was the founder of Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts in 1978. Michael is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. |
