Description of Practice:
Michael Cerrina is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office where his practice concentrates on general real estate development and finance. Mr. Cerrina's practice has an emphasis in portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, hotel, resort and residential developments and all forms of construction and permanent real estate financing. As lead counsel for a major pension fund advisor, Mr. Cerrina has had extensive exposure to all facets of development including office, industrial, retail, hotel and resort and planned residential community projects. In addition, as lead counsel for a major company involved in portfolio acquisitions, Mr. Cerrina has extensive expertise in loan negotiation workouts, partnership restructuring, judicial and non-judicial foreclosure activities and additional collateral matters including guarantees, letters of credit and other mixed collateral issues. Mr. Cerrina's lead counsel role for investment advisors on portfolio acquisitions includes multi-asset and multi-state portfolios containing performing loans, non-performing loans and REO properties involving and requiring the coordination of several law firms and loan servicing agents. Mr. Cerrina has played a key role in the acquisition and disposition of several hotels in the United States and the development by an international real estate company of a major hotel, resort and residential complex on the Island of Hawaii, including the negotiation of hotel management and operating agreements, golf course architect, construction, operating agreements, tennis facility operating agreements and residential construction management agreements.
Educational History:
A graduate of the University of Southern California in 1979 with a B.S., cum laude, in business administration, Mr. Cerrina earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1982, graduating with honors. |
