Michael Berkin is an experienced restructuring advisor who has assisted clients to review and develop reorganization plans, value complex business assets and perform due diligence on potential transactions in numerous bankruptcies. He is experienced at reviewing and evaluating a company’s operational performance and making recommendations to enhance profitability. Prior to joining Goldin, Michael was a Managing Director at L Tersigni Consulting, where his responsibilities included assisting creditors to evaluate strategic and operating plans and restructuring plans, developing proposals to maximize creditor recoveries and providing forensic and litigation support. Michael played a key role in numerous bankruptcies including Owens Corning, W.R. Grace, USG Corporation and Kaiser Aluminum. His experience extends to investigatory work related to substantive consolidation issues and litigation support on behalf of asbestos claimants’ interests. Earlier, Michael held various positions at ABN Amro Securities (and its predecessor firms ING Barings and Furman Selz) as a Managing Director and the business manager for several business units. Michael began his career at Arthur Andersen where he provided advisory, accounting and auditing services to clients concentrated in the financial services sector. A Certified Public Accountant, he received an MBA in Professional Accounting from Rutgers University and BA in Economics/Political Science from the University of Rochester. |
