Michael Berg is general counsel and company secretary for Equant.
Michael is responsible for directing Equant's legal affairs globally and ensuring the company's business goals are aligned with its global legal requirements. Reporting to him are the heads of Legal for Sales and Marketing Customer Service and Networks and Regulatory along with the corporate legal staff and the heads of Legal for each geographic region.
Based in Washington D.C. Michael reports to the president and CEO and is a member of the Executive Committee responsible for setting the overall strategy for the company.
Prior to joining Equant Michael was at AT&T where he held several senior management positions during his 23-year tenure in the regulatory commercial international and mergers & acquisitions areas. Previously he was chief counsel for AT&T's International Law and Public Affairs organization in Basking Ridge N.J.
Michael's international experience includes a five-year assignment in Tokyo where he was the international counsel for AT&T's operations in Japan and Korea.
Michael received his Juris Doctorate degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Rutgers College.
He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1979 and the United States District Court Southern District of New York in 1980.
