Michael Bayer leads FD’s U.S. Corporate Communications practice, one of the firm’s largest practices spanning multiple offices, sectors, and teams. Michael specializes in corporate positioning, brand development, issues management, internal communications and integrated marketing strategy. He has worked extensively across all sectors and with executive management for some of the world’s most recognized corporate brands, including Microsoft, HSBC, GMAC, IBM, Dow Jones, and Heineken, among many others.
Michael specializes in developing corporate positioning and branding strategies for both Fortune 500 and emerging companies during periods of significant internal or external change. He began his career in advertising, and has maintained a rigorous branding discipline throughout his work in communications, emphasizing the need for organizations to integrate their communications, marketing, and investor relations functions.
Prior to joining FD, Michael held senior positions for a number of global communications consultancies, including Weber Shandwick Worldwide and GCI Group, now part of WPP. He is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Counselors Academy of the Public Relations Society of America. He serves on the board of directors for Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York City. He holds a B.A. degree in English Literature from the University of Rhode Island. |
