Michael Babel is Managing Director, Options at the American Stock Exchange. He is responsible for marketing options to the investment community through numerous activities including speaking at OIC educational seminars. He acts as a liaison between specialists, market makers, brokers and the trading desks of brokerage firms. He has been a part-time instructor at the New York Institute of Finance where he taught students about options.
Prior to joining the Options Department, Michael was Manager of Marketing and Research for the ETF Marketplace at the American Stock Exchange. He marketed ETF's such as DIAMONDS, HOLDRS, iShares, SPDRs, streetTRACKS, The Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking Stock (QQQ) and Vanguard VIPERs. He has presented at investor conferences such as KFNN Financial Fest, the Money Show, the AAII Investor Conference and The Investment Expo. He has also been a speaker at various institutional conferences including IMN's Public Funds Conference, Corporate Pension Funds Summit, and OPAL's Investment Education Symposium and Alternative Investing Summit. He regularly met with the trading desk and research staff at brokerage firms to discuss ETFs and their applications. Mr. Babel was also involved in customer relations and worked with current and prospective ETF issuers in developing statistical data used to forecast product growth. Michael began his career in financial services at Morgan Stanley. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the State University of New York at Albany. |
