Mr. Adams previously served as Director, Global Performance Excellence at Microsoft, as managing partner of Mike Adams & Company, a management consulting practice, and was Corporate Manager of Quality Services at FPL Group, Inc. With 21 years of utility experience while at FPL, he served in many management capacities and also served as unit advisor to Florida Power & Light when the company pursued and won the Deming Prize, becoming the first non-Japanese company to be awarded the prestigious prize for quality management.
Mr. Adams holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Florida, and quality management knowledge from the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE).
Mr. Adams is immediate past Secretary of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Foundation and has served on the Board of Examiners for the Baldrige Award. He is a senior member for the American Society for Quality, where he served as past chair of the Dr. Juran Medal for Distinguished Leadership. He is past chair and current member of the U.S. Quality Council of the Conference Board. |
