As President and Chief Operating Officer of Joy Mining Machinery, Mr. Sutherlin has global responsibility for the company's underground mining machinery business. He joined the company in January 2003. Prior to joining Joy Global Inc., Mr. Sutherlin spent 27 years with Varco International, Inc. During his career with Varco, he held a variety of financial and operational positions, both domestic and international, including Division President, Group President, and President and Chief Operating Officer. He has specific expertise in manufacturing operations, new product development, commercializing new technologies, international business, and strategic acquisitions. Mr. Sutherlin holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a dual BSIE/BBA from Texas Tech University. |
