Michael W. Walsh - Chairman of the Board
Michael W. Walsh, born February 10, 1958, began his employment with Eagle Bank and Trust Company in May 1985 as vice president. Mr. Walsh brought a background in business development, commercial and real estate lending experience from prior employment at Mercantile Bank (Firstar) and General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC). Promoted to president in 1986, Mr. Walsh initiated a growth and expansion plan that currently extends throughout Jefferson and St. Louis Counties. Beginning with a single facility in Hillsboro, acquiring two facilities in House Springs and Cedar Hill in 1988, expanding to Festus/Crystal City in 1991, DeSoto in 1996, Arnold in 1997 and 1999, Eagle Bank is now one of the largest independently owned banks in Jefferson County. In 2002 Eagle Bank acquired Perry County Savings in Perryville, Missouri thereby extending service South into Perry County. Mr. Walsh now leads the expansion in St. Louis County with an established Loan Production Office in Des Peres, Missouri, and an approved full-service facility in Kirkwood, Missouri. Mr. Walsh attributes the bank's success to the talents and commitment of the personnel within the organization and their personal commitment to excellent service and service to the community. Mr. Walsh is a former Twin City Chamber President; Jefferson County YMCA Board member and president; director and/or officer of the Twin City Kiwanis; Jefferson College Foundation; Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation; Mastadon Art/Science Fair; and Jefferson County Veterans Memorial. In 1996 he served as the chairperson for the 1996 Olympic Torch Celebration, the First Annual Twin City Days Celebration, and the St. Pius High School Renaissance Program.Mr. Walsh is a lifetime resident of St. Louis, graduate of Christian Brothers College (CBC) in 1976 and Benedictine College in 1980; is married to Lisa L. (nee Proctor) Walsh, and has two sons, Shaun and Kevin. |
