Michael S. Simon, M.D., MPH, of Detroit, MI., is professor of medicine and oncology at Wayne State University and works as a medical oncologist at Karmanos Cancer Institute. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of IL in Champaign-Urbana in 1979 and Medical Degree at the University of IL, Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine in 1983. His post graduate training has consisted of internship and residency in primary care internal medicine residency and Oncology Fellowship at the University of Michigan from 1983 through 1989, during which he completed a Masters in Public Health with an emphasis on epidemiology. Dr. Simon's clinical work focuses on breast cancer oncology. He directs the Cancer Genetic Counseling Service through which individuals at high risk for breast and other cancers receive counseling. Dr. Simon's research focuses on breast cancer epidemiology with a major focus on minority differences in breast cancer risk, survival, screening and access to medical care. |
