Mr. Michael R. Minogue is Abiomed’s Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President. He joined Abiomed in April 2004 following a successful twelve-year career at GE Healthcare. Mr. Minogue departed GE as the Vice President and General Manager of Americas Sales and Marketing for the $1B Information Technology business. From 1997 to 2004, Mr. Minogue held various global leadership positions in sales, marketing, customer service, engineering management, and software development for GE. Mr. Minogue led the Positron Emission Technology division, Americas Cardiology Sales and Marketing, Global Installed Base business, and MRI Americas marketing. Prior to joining GE, Mr. Minogue served on active duty for four years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army and received multiple awards. Mr. Minogue received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering management from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his MBA from the University of Chicago. Mr. Minogue currently serves on the board of directors of LifeCell Corporation (LIFC) and for AdvaMed, the Advanced Medical Technology Association. Since joining Abiomed, Mr. Minogue has focused the company on heart recovery in order to treat a broader patient population with new products developed in-house and by acquisition, such as Impella. |
