Mike joined Cornish & Carey Commercial in 1972 following an eight-year career as a Regional Sales Manager for Motorola Communications in Northern California. He immediately established himself as a successful salesperson by earning the trust of the local real estate developers and major corporations in their search for land and lease facilities. Many of the major business parks in Santa Clara County were assembled by him: Fair Oaks and Oakmead in Sunnyvale, Marriott, San Tomas and Mission in Santa Clara, as well as Orchard Park, River Oaks, and Oakmead in San Jose. His professional and skillful approach to client representation has earned him the prestigious Silicon Valley Broker of the Year Award five times. In 2001, Mike was elected Land Broker of the Year by the Association of Silicon Valley Brokers for land sales that totaled in excess of $500,000,000.00. He was elected into the South Bay Brokers Hall of Fame in 1991. He was promoted to Partner and Executive Vice-President with Cornish & Carey Commercial in 1977. Mike founded the Corporate/Institutional Services division of Cornish & Carey Commercial in 1989 to better serve the major clients’ needs for a broader level of real estate services. In conjunction with the ONCOR affiliation, he has completed consulting assignments and a number of major transactions for his local clients outside of Silicon Valley. He specializes in land site acquisitions and dispositions, major lease requirements, and build-to-suits. During his career, Mike has sold over 6,000 acres, 80% of which has been in the Silicon Valley. He has also negotiated over 19,000,000 square feet of lease and built-to-suit transactions and improved property investment sales that exceed One Billion dollars in total sales volume. The total dollar value of all of his major transactions exceeds Five Billion dollars. Mike is also a General Partner in a real estate development firm that has constructed over 1,550,000 square feet of commercial, industrial, and research and development buildings in the Silicon Valley. His partnerships currently retain approximately 550,000 square feet of leaseable space. This development expertise is an invaluable asset for client representations, which center around entitling property for build-to-suit based transactions or sites for acquisition or disposition, whether improved or unimproved. |
