Michael Apfel is a Managing Director at Deerfield Capital Management LLC. Prior to joining Deerfield, Mr. Apfel was a Principal of Banc of America Securities LLC where he was a senior investment banker in the Financial Sponsor Group. He was responsible for managing the relationships for several large private equity firms with primary focus on origination and execution of bank, bond, mezzanine and equity financings as well as merger and acquisition advisory. Prior to joining Banc of America Securities LLC, Mr. Apfel was a Senior Vice President at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown (formerly Bankers Trust) where he was a member of the Financial Sponsor Group originating and executing bank, bond, mezzanine, and equity financings. Mr. Apfel began his career at Chemical Bank (which later merged with Chase) as a member of the firm's investment banking group working in New York and London. Mr. Apfel holds a BS from Guilford College. |
