Michael P. Stanley is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's San Diego office. He is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department where his practice focuses on patent prosecution.
Prior to joining the Firm, Michael worked at a Washington, D.C. based law firm where he prepared and prosecuted patent applications across a broad spectrum of technologies including semiconductors, plasma display panels, software and internet applications, circuits, telecommunications, optics, electrical devices and mechanical devices. He also analyzed prior art references and proposed claim amendments and patentability arguments.
Michael earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. He earned his law degree from the University of Maryland in 2004. While in law school, Michael served as an associate editor for The Business Lawyer. He is a member of the State Bar of California and is a registered patent attorney admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
