Michael was born and raised in Madison and received his Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of Mississippi. Upon graduation, Michael worked as an investment broker for a regional brokerage firm. While working as an investment broker, Michael gained experience in investment account management, retirement plans, insurance, estate planning and investment research and analysis. Since joining GranthamPoole, Michael’s primary focus is in the area of personal financial planning and tax planning and preparation. He also specializes in the areas of asset protection planning, employee benefits and estate planning. Michael regularly works with individuals, self-employed clients, corporations, partnerships, trusts and non-profit organizations. Also, Michael is considered an expert in college funding and college savings plans, having authored an article on Mississippi’s 529 plans. Michael is a licensed CPA in Mississippi and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Planning Association, and the Central Mississippi Chapter of Certified Public Accountants. Michael is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional and maintains licenses as a Securities Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative. For relaxation, Michael enjoys playing golf and basketball, watching sports, and reading. Michael and his wife, Betsy, have two young sons, Miles and Payton, and reside in Jackson.
