Michael Ertle is a Senior Associate in the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group and a member of the firm's Construction, Real Estate and Land Use Litigation Team. He is an experienced trial lawyer in all aspects of commercial litigation who has tried cases to verdict.
Construction, Land Use and Real Estate Litigation. Michael represents owners, developers, contractors, engineers, and architects in a broad range of construction, real estate, and land use disputes. These include the representation of a prominent home developer in Eastern Pennsylvania in a matter involving the Federal Cable Act; multi-million dollar commercial construction projects; university construction projects; and landlord/tenant disputes involving large-scale commercial properties. Michael also advises his clients in all phases of the design and construction process in office building, commercial, industrial and residential projects.
General Litigation. Michael has also represented clients in commercial litigation matters, including products liability, telecommunication, securities, intellectual property, pharmaceutical, environmental, and labor and employment litigation. He has extensive experience in products liability defense litigation, representing a leading international chemical company in benzene exposure litigation. Michael has also represented wireless telephone and cable television providers in class action and complex business litigation, and in litigation with current and former agents and partners. Michael has represented clients in trademark and patent enforcement litigation, he has defended corporations in personal injury matters, and he has successfully represented clients in obtaining and defending against preliminary and permanent injunctive relief.
Pro Bono Work. Throughout his career, Michael has been committed to providing pro bono services to those in need through various agencies and courts including the Military Assistance Program of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program, and court appointed cases from the State of New Jersey. Michael has also represented an indigent client in a case involving claims for violations of the client’s Constitutional rights in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, which resulted in a four-day jury trial.
Education. Michael graduated with distinction from Penn State University in 1999, receiving his degree in Political Science. He graduated cum laude from the Villanova University School of Law in 2002, where he was a managing editor of research and business for the Villanova Law Review. |
