Private Consultant. Mr. Carns has been a director of our company since September 2001. He is the Chairman of the Board Nominating and Governance Committee and a member of the Technology Committee. He was Vice Chairman of PrivaSource, Inc. (software firm) from 2001 to 2004. He served in the United States Air Force for 35 years until his retirement in September 1994. From May 1991 until his retirement, Mr. Carns served as Vice Chief of Staff, United States Air Force. Prior thereto, he served as Director of the Joint Staff, Joint Chiefs of Staff from September 1989. Mr. Carns served as President and Executive Director of the Center for International Political Economy from 1995 to February 2000. Mr. Carns is a director of Entegris, Inc. and is a former director of Engineered Support Systems, Inc., DynCorp. Inc., and Mission Research Corporation. He is a consultant to various entities and is a member of the board of various early stage ventures, the Department of Defense Science Board and numerous professional and civic organizations. |
